The community is invited to the dinner on October 6 to hear guest speaker\, Dr. Wendell Becton and enjoy learning more about the work of The Salvation Army in Pekin. The doors will open at 6 p.m. with the dinner served at 6:30. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at The Salvation Army during normal business hours at 243 Derby Street in Pekin. You can also get tickets from Salvation Army board members. The dinner celebration will serve as a wrap-up to the year-long 125th anniversary celebration and include the presentation of the Others Award to a deserving Pekin area recipient\, from The Salvation Army?s new Divisional Commander\, Major Kelly Collins. New Corps Officer Captain Rick Ray says he and his wife Kim are looking forward to meeting the community at the annual dinner. ?We want to thank the community for their support over the past year and pledge to continue to serve those in need.?
