This will be the 60th year the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the fireworks event\, which will be held Wednesday July 4th\, with a rain date of July 5th. The program will feature unique ground pieces viewable only from inside the stadium\, and more than 700 aerials. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. Before the fireworks begin\, those in the stadium will enjoy local bands and other entertainment. The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at dusk (about 9:15p.m.).
